Jeddah Islamic Biennale
In collabration with Gioforma and Black Engineering.
The project is made up of 12 clusters with a gross built up area of approximately 27,000 sqm, which house the main mosque, public reception, and VIP reception areas, multiple galleries, F&B outlets, multipurpose/library, workshops and seminar areas and administration offices. The clusters also include pavilions of which the Makkah and Al Madina are the most prominent ones. The outdoor areas with an area of approximately 35,000 sqm also became ideal areas for exhibitions related to sculptures and lighting.
This years' Biennale celebrates the Art of Islam and being a Muslim, and is being held in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as it is the custodian of the two Holy Mosques and the sacred landscapes around them, is the spiritual focus for Muslims across the world. Awwal Bait, literally meaning “First House,” refers to the Ka’bah in Makkah al-Mukarramah, the holiest site in Islam.
